Glossary
Come across a term you don't immediately recognize? Below you'll find the key terms used in DentallManager, in alphabetical order. Looking specifically for the app-specific terms? Check Core Concepts.
Aftekenlijst (checklist) — a checklist you check off for a fixed task, for example opening or closing a treatment room.
Apparatuur (equipment) — the machines and devices in your practice, registered with status and maintenance planning.
Behandelkamer (treatment room) — a workstation in your practice that schedules and checklists are matched to.
Bijzondere afspraken (special events) — special events you record under Settings → Schedule; visible on the dashboard.
Blauwdruk (blueprint) — per workstation, the staffing pattern for a weekday: opening hours, breaks and the positions needed at each time block. The schedule is built from these. See Setting up your practice for how to set them up.
Contactenlijst (Contactlist in the menu) — the list of your practice's external contacts, such as depots, IT companies and referral practices.
Dagevaluatie (Day Evaluation in the menu) — a daily review of the working day; a draft has the Draft status.
Decision Trees — decision trees that provide guidance for making a choice.
Document Creator — the document generator you use to draft letters, forms and treatment plans.
Easy Contracts — the contract module where you draft employment contracts and track the signature process.
Incidentmelding (VIM) (Incident Report (VIM) in the menu — Veilig Incident Melden, safe incident reporting) — the way you report incidents and near-incidents.
Kennisbank (Knowledge Base in the menu) — internal information and ready-made draft messages for patient communication.
Leeromgeving (learning environment) — the place where you complete learning modules.
Magic Planner — the brand name our brochure uses for quickly creating a staff schedule. In the application itself the screen is called Create new schedule: you create a schedule per employee, using Load from fixed schedule and Repeat.
Medewerker (employee) — a member of the practice team, regardless of position or access role.
Mediatheek (Gallery) — the media library with clinical photos and videos, organized by treatment category.
My employment file — the menu item where you view and complete your own employment file.
Organogram (Organizational Chart in the menu) — a visual overview of your practice's team structure.
Overuren (overtime) — hours you work in addition to your fixed schedule.
Patiënt (patient) — the person being treated at your practice; patient data remains in your patient management system.
Personeelsdossier (employment file) — the digital file of an employee, including contract and leave data.
Praktijk (practice) — the dental practice that works with DentallManager.
Praktijkeigenaar (practice owner) — the owner of the practice.
Praktijkmanager (practice manager) — the person who manages the day-to-day settings, schedules and requests.
Protocol (protocol) — an internal working document that describes how a task is carried out.
Quick Action — the button at the top right of every page with shortcuts for the most frequently used requests and reports.
Rooster (schedule) — the work schedule per employee, location and workstation.
Smart Alerts — automatic signals on your dashboard, for example when a contract is about to expire.
Toegangsrechten (access rights) — the settings where you configure who can see and do what, per role.
Urenregistratie (time tracker) — where you track worked hours, and your leave and overtime balances.
Verlof (leave) — a request for time off, statutory or non-statutory.
Verzuim (absence) — the recording of a sick leave report.
Werkplek (workstation) — a place you schedule against in the practice, such as a treatment room, the front desk or sterilisation.
