Core concepts

This page briefly explains the most important concepts in DentallManager. Looking for a word that isn't listed here? Check the full glossary.

Schedule​

Your work schedule: when you work, at which location and at which workstation, for example Behandelkamer 1 (Treatment Room 1). You view your schedule via My Schedule, Team schedule or Per Location.

Leave​

A request for time off, statutory or above-statutory. You submit a request via Quick Actions. The status becomes Requested, Accepted, Rejected or Cancelled.

Absence​

The record of a sick-leave report, found in your Time Tracker.

Overtime​

Hours you work in addition to your fixed schedule. You request compensation or take leave from your overtime balance.

Checklist​

A checklist you tick off for a recurring task, for example opening or closing a treatment room or the front desk. A checklist has a start date and a completion window within which it must be signed off; there is no separate expiry date.

VIM​

VIM stands for Veilig Incident Melden (safe incident reporting): the way you report incidents and near-incidents.

Protocol​

An internal working document that describes how a task is carried out. DentallManager is delivered pre-filled with protocols.

Smart Alert​

An automatic signal on your dashboard, for example for an expiring contract, an expiring checklist or an open request.

Quick Actions​

Shortcuts in the top right of your dashboard. With these you report a malfunction, request leave, report sick or submit overtime, all in one click.

Ticket​

A report about equipment, for example a malfunction, maintenance or repair request. The action, equipment and problem description are required; a priority is optional.

Daily evaluation​

A daily look back on the working day, which you record with a draft status until you finalise it.

Learning environment​

The place where you follow learning modules, linked to exams.

Knowledge base​

Internal information and ready-to-use draft messages for patient communication.

The Gallery: the media library with clinical photos and videos, organised by treatment category.

Org chart​

A visual overview of your practice's team structure, built with the Organogram Builder.
